Thank you for your patience as we work through this unprecedented time dealing with the coronavirus pandemic. Over the past several weeks, our team has been working with local officials to determine the best plan for the 2020 Naptown Half Marathon & 10K/5K running event.
We have confirmed a new date to hold this event and the 2020 race will be rescheduled for Sunday, August 16, 2020. The race will be held at the same location and the course will remain the same.
So, what does that mean for you? Well, we have several options for all currently registered runners. Please read below for further information:
Options for Runners:
1. Run on the new date of August 16, 2020 - Requires no action on your part.
2. Elect to participate in the Virtual Run on the original race date of May 30. You will receive your premium and medal in the mail. You will need to notify us if you select this option at firstname.lastname@example.org.
3. Defer your registration to the 2021 race. Deferment fees will be waived until May 15, 2020. You will be sent a code when registration opens for 2021 to register for no charge. You will need to login to your Run Sign Up account and elect to defer your 2020 registration.
4. Defer your entry to another one of our races, The Alumni Challenge 10K/5K. This race is on November 21, 2020 at the Maryland National Harbor. You will need to notify us if you would like to defer to this race by emailing email@example.com
We hope you’ll join us on August 16th, but are excited to offer you any of the above options!
Again, thank you for your patience as we work through this situation. Our team is ready to get back to work and see our runners again! We look forward to this year’s race and hope you will be there.

The COVID-19 situation is changing daily. Earlier this week Governor Hogan of Maryland issued a mandatory Stay-at-home order for all residents apart from essential personnel. That, along with the Federal governments decision to continue the social distancing guidelines and ban on large gatherings through at least April 30, has forced our staff to begin making plans to reschedule the 2020 Naptown Half Marathon & 10K/5K race.
We are working with the proper officials and deciding on plans for when we can hold the race later this year. We will make every effort to host the race this year and will have options for our runners when the official announcement is made.
Once confirmed, we will announce the new details for the race on social media, this website and through e-mail. Please direct any question to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please do not contact our office via phone as our staff are all working remotely per the Governor's Executive Order.

During these recent times of uncertainty, we hope that you are taking all the proper precautions to keep you and your loved ones safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.
We are closely monitoring the situation and working in conjunction with the City of Annapolis, Anne Arundel County and the Naval Academy Athletic Association to ensure we can provide you up-to-date information about the race while keeping all those involved, including our participants, staff, volunteers, vendors and spectators safe and out of harm’s way.
As of today, March 16th, the Naptown Half Marathon & 10K/5K is still scheduled for Saturday, May 30th. The City of Annapolis has canceled all events through April 11th per Governor Hogan’s state of emergency in Maryland. This means that we are in a temporary holding pattern until further decisions can be made regarding the status of large public events.
We will do everything in our power to hold the event on its scheduled date this year but are also working on contingency plans in that event that cannot happen.
Once we have further clarification we will communicate that plan and what options are available to registered runners. Please be sure to follow our social media accounts (@NaptownRun) on Facebook and Instagram as we will post any updates to these platforms as well as our race website, www.NaptownRun.com.
You may also e-mail us at email@example.com.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate this situation. We promise to deliver our participants a legendary experience at this event!
